There’s A Farmer in My Classroom is a year-long virtual ag education program that connects students to real Iowa farms, real farmers, and real food stories—sparking curiosity and understanding from the heart of agriculture.
Through There’s A Farmer in My Classroom, students explore the magic of agriculture, meeting farmers (and cows), touring farms, and discovering where their food really comes from. It’s not just fun, it’s inspiring the next generation to connect with agriculture and its endless possibilities!
Agriculture is incredibly diverse, with so many fascinating things to see, do, and learn! Whether your students come from farm families or are brand new to agriculture, our Virtual Farm Tours offer an exciting window into the world of food, farming, and the people behind it all.
Each tour highlights a different part of agriculture, from row crops to livestock to specialty farms, giving students a chance to explore real farms without ever leaving the classroom.
To deepen the learning, every tour comes with grade-level specific curriculum aligned to classroom standards, making it easy for teachers to connect farm experiences to meaningful lessons.
Want your students to experience what it’s really like to raise farm animals? Sign up for There’s A Cow in My Classroom!
Each participating class is matched with a “class cow” and receives monthly updates on her growth, care, and life on the farm. Along the way, students get an up-close look at day-to-day life on a working beef farm, from feeding and health checks to calving and cattle behavior.
This program has received rave reviews for its engaging, real-life connection to animal agriculture, giving students a firsthand look at where their food comes from and the farmers who raise it.
Educators receive regular emails packed with helpful classroom resources like ag-themed book recommendations, ready-to-use lesson ideas, and a deeper look at timely topics in agriculture that connect directly to the food choices we make every day.
It’s a simple, valuable way to stay inspired, informed, and connected to the world of agriculture, all year long.
Here in the Midwest, corn and soybeans are everywhere, but how do they grow from tiny seeds into the crops we harvest each fall?
In this series, students can follow along with weekly updates straight from the field, watching the growth and changes in real time. Along the way, they’ll learn about planting, weather, soil health, and the tools farmers use to care for these essential crops.
Got questions? We’ve got answers!
Join our Live Sessions where your class can ask anything they're curious about—from virtual farm tours to everyday life on the farm. Some sessions will focus on specific topics, while others feature special guests from the ag industry who share their real-world experiences and insights.
It’s a fun, interactive way to connect students directly to the people and practices behind the food they eat!
Want time to chat? Schedule a virtual tour where I will share our farm and chat with your class about all things agriculture!
